When I walk through the park I have looked up and undestand the rules. Pedestrians have the right of way on pedestrian paths. They should walk on the right. Pedestrians should walk on the left when walking on a bike path so they are facing bikers. If they have a dog, the dog should be to the left of them and on a short leash so they can’t obstruct bikers.
Every time I walk, people play chicken with me. They are walking on the right side on a bike path and I am walking on the left. It becomes a game of chicken. Alomst every time I have to look behind me, make sure a bike isn’t coming and then step aside so they can continue down their path.
Then, to top it off, they yell at me or make some side remark rebuking me. This is America. Everyone thinks they are more important than everyone else. They get mad at the people following the rules when they are not because they haven’t taken the time to learn the rules.
This is because the world is about them. They create their bubbles and they are the most important people in those bubbles. Their rules and only their rules matter in those bubbles.
One time I actually asked a person to call Wildlife management and ask who was right or wrong. I offered my phone and the number. This person would not. Yet this person continued to tell me that I was the asshole. Crazy.
Did you know nothing in America gets fixed for safety until someone dies? You can tell government that this is a bad situation and someone is going to get hurt. They won’t change it. That costs money. Money they don’t have because it is lining other people’s pockets. We will fix it when it becomes a real problem. Well, guess what? That real problem is a person’s life.
For the record, I don’t hate America. I don’t like this America. America in 2026 where profit is more important than people’s lives. This is the America of 1776. This is an America on the brink of dictatorhsip, profit, and lawlessness.
If it were the America of 1776 we would have a melting pot, not a boiling cauldron burning immigrants into non-existance.
