Normally I type this in word and then copy and paste to here so I don’t feel stupid. The computer can correct me on grammar, etc. Maybe I need to stop doing that. Maybe I just need to write and get my thoughts out as they are. Here is my first attempt.
I went to the eye doctor last week. They had me sign papers, as usual. What wasn’t usual is that I had to sign papers stating I received my prescriptions before I even saw the doctor.
Yes, I am one of the weirdos that actually reads things before signing.
Here’s the thing. I had to ask for the prescription THREE times before they would give it to me. So you are having me sign an agreement in advance that I received something from you that you are withholding and hoping I won’t notice that you are refusing to produce? Why?
That was weird to me. I sat at the desk forcing them to email me my prescription and watching my phone to make sure it appeared in my email before leaving.
Shouldn’t this be standard practice. I get an eye exam, you give me a prescription. Why am I signing something in advance that you want to withhold?
Also, I decided to get contacts. We go through the whole process. At the end of the visit the doctor directs me to a chair in another part of the office. I’m thinking…this is weird. We should be done.
The guy at the chair tells me I owe $159. I tell him my exam should be covered by insurance. He responds, it is. This is the contact lense fitting charge.
What?! You and the doctor didn’t feel it necessary to disclose there is a random $159 fitting charge if we do down the contact lens path?
It’s all such bullshit. Everything in America is a trap to steal your money. No one cares about your health. No one is honest.
Other countries, do not be like America. Capitolism sucks. Only the rich love it because they treat the rest of us like shit.
